Irish government supports agroforestry with “substantial grants”

The irish Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Andrew Doyle, highlighted the options available to support agroforestry in Ireland.

Minister Doyle pointed out the “substantial grants available” of €6,220/ha under the Agro-Forestry Scheme together with an annual premium of up to €660/ha

He added that farmers can apply through the Organic Farming Scheme and Agro-Forestry Scheme.

Minister Andrew Doyle spoke at BioFarm 2019 – Ireland’s Biological Farming Conference, in the beginning of November.

The focus of the event was on the capabilities of agriculture to combat climate change.
